‘Margins’ held in Liptovsky Mikulas, Slovakia in 2007 explored notions of photographic practice and international labour in marginal economies and geographical margins.
Speakers at the conference included: photographer Jindrich Streit who has been documenting labour in the Czech Republic for over 3 decades; Portugese curator and Director of Braga Image Museum, Rui Prata; and Sigrún Sigurõardóttir, photographic researcher at the National Museum of Iceland who discussed the changing nature of Icelandic national industry.
